Parents as Teachers (PAT)

Parents as Teachers is available to give you, as parents, ideas for everyday activities to help your child develop to their fullest. We do this by holding fortnightly groups for families with babies and regular groups for families with toddlers (up to 3 years) where you have time to talk to other parents, hear information about child development, and get the chance to play with your child. Directions to Parents as Teachers...

Entry to the program is through the Newborn group which runs once a term for 6 consecutive weeks.  Bookings are no longer being taken for Term 4.

The Parents as Teachers program will be ceasing operation at the end of November due to a DET restructure.  We look forward to continuing our existing groups until the end of November and the timetables for Term 4 are listed on the Baby and Toddler groups pages for participating families.

Term 4 2009 - The Sea!

Our theme for Term 4 is "The Sea".  For families already participating in the program, the class times for the remainder of the year are available on the baby and toddler groups pages and also as a PDF for download from the newsletters page.

Newborn classes - This is a group for families with new babies up to 5 months. This group is now full for Term 4.

Play and learn sessions - for non-mobile and mobile babies in Term 4 will be held on Mon 1-2pm, Tues 12-1pm and Wed 10-11am.

Play sessions - these will be held on alternating Thursdays and Fridays from 9.30am - 11am.

Dad's play sessions - are becoming increasingly popular (good on you Dads!) and will continue to be held every Wednesday from 4.00pm.

Safety at PAT

We need you to be aware that while you are at Parents as Teachers and within the school grounds you are responsible for your child's care.

Our team work hard at maintaining a safe environment for you and your child to have fun. While playing please also be mindful of the safety of other children.

The new outdoor equipment has been chosen with safety in mind while still creating an environment for children to have fun and explore. Gates have been installed to stop children climbing stairs but as these stairs require access by the older children during our play sessions you still need to be vigilant and know your child's whereabouts at all times.

Parent committee

Our Parent Committee meets twice a term providing a crucial support role for PAT. The committee is involved in making decisions for fundraising , program direction and supporting the team to host the Playschool concert each year. Next meeting to be announced. Anyone wishing to participate on the committee please phone or email.
